Death at the lake

I just wanted to see if anyone else had heard of a death on Dale this weekend. I heard that the daughter of someone I work with passed away after an accident on the lake early Saturday morning (~3am).

I was just curious if anyone had any info on what happened.

Please keep the family in your prayers...

Thanks

Yes Farris2121 there was a very tragic death on Dale Hollow this weekend.

Please read this post from mod KyAl. It happened very near his cabin on the lake.

It is even more sadder than you can know. Details are still unfolding and I hope someday we can all know what happened here. Sad.

In a nutshell, she was a passenger in a 19' Four Winns that struck the shoreline in the dark and over turned on the bank.

My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.

I also heard about this accident. I heard the same info that KyAl posted. Saw the boat on the bank on Saturday afternoon. I was out after dark on Friday and Saturday evenings. It was very dark out there. No moon. Very tragic. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends.

Very unfortunate... Can anyone point out on a map where it happened? I've been there many times but still don't know it like I know Cumberland... I know there are many shallow areas as well as islands etc. - I was just curious if it was an area I was familiar with..

Go here and download this map - it's not a very good map, but its what the COE hands out:

http://www.lrn.usace.army.mil/op/dal/rec/maps.htm

The accident site was just to the east - to the right on the map - of the designation given as Eagle Cove Marina - shown by the large, red block "17".

Farris - I also need you to check your U2U message.
