I think GH is the most unique and beautiful dock on the lake.
I hope it stays that way.

hi rick- our slip is 1280- any problem with pulling our boat in the slip- when we left last fall, a piece of floating cable was coming off the bank to the walkway, and we had to drift over this, and untangle it from the out drives- hope we didnt hurt anything, but would rather not go through that again-hope to be in the water by end of month! as for grider hill, we have always enjoyed the retro feel of the dock- bring back the swimming pool!

Thanks for the update Rick.
Speaking of cables blocking slips; there’s one behind my SeaRay. Last year I was told that it was a “spare” and would be moved, but as of recent it was still there. Could you check on that? Thanks!

...And one more question: Is bad planking/decking being replaced?

Rick, sorry if I offended you. I didn't say it was your fault. It's just hard to see something looking as bad as Grider does now and be asked to fork over an additional 13%. I don't understand why it is in such bad shape. Sunset is a wooden dock modeled after Grider, but it is immaculately maintained. If people new the money was going toward something worthwhile it would be different. I know you're doing your best. Again, they should be thankful they have you. As far as I'm concerned you're their saving grace.

thanks for the reply- we will wait to hear from you- just got up, got a bit of snow here in lex. as for looking like a dump, i disagree- sure, there are areas that are not pristine, but i think the gh crew has always done a very good job in keeping the place looking good- i was also quite happy to see the wooden steps put in on the point a few years ago- that was a high quality installation, and is one of the things i look forward to when i think of the lake- may gh be blessed and have a successful season, drama and all!

Spent the night at the dock. Wow it was windy. Our dock was really swaying in the wind. Big swings. From what I seen a all the boats look like they will be able to get out. They have the new ramp pushed into the water. I told Rick he needed to bring in some warm weather. He assured me that some was coming in sometime in July or August. :D:D:D

Are you sure they pushed the ramp in or is it just underwater due to rise in water depth.

I would say they pushed the new concrete in. There is no way it (water) went up that far.

Rick are they going to just add gravel between the two sections at the waterline?
I should have taken a pic. Forgot camera when we walked over that way.

It was nice inside the boat Whitenights. But it was cold outside. Snowy sun. morn.

When the water goes back down would be the time to "Go Find" that treasure that slipped of the boat, the current has removed a lot of the mud exposing more treasures.

The water was moving very fast. I have been up there several times, and have never seen it like that.

Went down to GHD on Monday 2/26. I walked out to the front docks and noticed sveral boats missing or an entire section of dock missing. Have some more people moved on? Didn't see Don's 370 sitting there or did he sell it?

Personally I think GHD has the best character on the lake. Reflects a nice family atmosphere and a 50's kinda style.

Better trash pickup on the weekends would be a great improvement.
